Walk with Julia

Peters Canyon

While the kids were in school, Steve and I went out to lunch and then took a hike in Peters Canyon. This is where Anna does some of her runs with her track club. Steve has even done a 10-miler here. I don't know how. Some of the hills are so steep they look like cliffs at certain angles. I literally had to hold Steve's hand while descending several rocky and sandy paths. We even encountered a snake, my first in the wild. Needless to say I was quite winded at the end of our time in Peters Canyon. Still, it was a lot of fun.

Lexie

My friend Tracey just had a baby, daughter Lexie. I was able to visit them at the hospital, actually two days in a row since it is just a minute away.

Babies are so precious, congratulations Tracey and family!

Carlsbad 5000

For Steve's birthday weekend he ran in the Carlsbad 5000. He ran a personal best of 18:54! Then we watched the 'elite' men and women race at the end of the day. It was exciting and inspiring to see these talented runners.

Anna's Cheer Clinic

Anna participated in a cheer clinic for two days at her school. The photos came out a bit blurry, but can you spot:

Cute Note

Recently I've been making Sam and Anna some stuffed dolls from the game 'Trees of Doom'. He wrote me this cute note to thank me:

Track Meet at Concordia

Anna is currently participating in a running club three times a week, and the family attended one of her track meets last month. She ran the 400 and 800, and did very well in both. We are so proud of her hard work and determination.
