I took Anna and her friends out for a snack and shopping at South Coast Plaza. More than once did I want to join in on their conversations but I held back. These friends are definitely gems!

The Hobbit

We watched most of the Lord of the Rings trilogy during Thanksgiving Break. The kids loved it. They are looking forward to the release of The Hobbit in December.

Space Shuttle Endeavour

Just a couple months ago, we had seen the Space Shuttle Endeavour fly overhead, piggy back on top of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet. Now, the Endeavour's permanent home is the California Science Center in Los Angeles, and we were able to visit during Thanksgiving break. It was fascinating to see the orbiter up close, and also in the special movie beforehand that showed Endeavor making its way through the streets of LA all the way to the museum. The huge engines, the massive wings, the unique numbered "tiles" underneath, the sum of all its parts makes for an amazing spacecraft!

Kathie and Tim's Wedding

It was a reunion to meet up with my former coworkers at Kathie and Tim's wedding. Kathie and Tim met at a mutual friend's wedding, and the rest is history! They had a beautiful reception at the Hilton in Costa Mesa. One of the highlights was the multi-course Asian meal. Also, cognac was served at the tables, at the request of the groom. Lots of eating, dancing and good times!
