Playdate with Anna

Yumi and I took Anna to Disneyland one evening, Cinderella's Castle is lit up so beautifully this time of the year.


We caught the castle-lighting show and a dusting of "bubble snow" caught us by surprise, it was magical.


The Disneyland tree is gorgeous.


We also caught the Christmas parade, if you stand in the plaza area where Walt Disney's statue stands, you can get an uncrowded view of the show on Main Street.

Shelling in Palos Verdes

One afternoon Rachel and I drove up to Palos Verdes to go hiking and shelling.


The terrain was rocky and the views were gorgeous. We went out two miles, climbing over slippery stones made it a fun challenge for me, while Rachel was totally adept with her steps.


At 5 p.m. the sun started setting fast.


We finished our hike in time to see the sun set. Another treasure in Southern California.

Playdates with Sam

On three different days Sam and I went to California Adventure, the Santa Ana Zoo, and Disneyland.


We went on Flik's Flyers, that was a lot of fun.


But Sam preferred strolling around vs. going on rides.

We also went to the Santa Ana Zoo, Sam gets so intrigued by signs and diagrams.


He is so inquisitive about so much at this age.


At Disneyland, Sam enjoyed the decor on Main Street.


He loves the window displays.


The ticket turnstile worker had to make sure the flask Sam was holding was made of plastic and not glass.


Wow, what busy fun days. Zzzzz...

Getty Part 2

Part 2 of the Getty photo series, the weather was gorgeous. We enjoyed being "detectives" exploring art exhibits, surrounded by beautiful expensive art and kids' interactive fun.

Getty Part 1

Last weekend our family visited the Getty with Yumi, Mama, Mari and Rob. We had a wonderful time. The pictures do speak for themselves, enjoy this three-part photo series.

Becca's Birthday

Anna attended Becca's birthday party and sleepover. The fun started afterschool where the girls gathered to be picked up in a 15-passenger van, and then transported to somewhere super fun (and super nostalgic for me).

To Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour! Wow, I remember these as a kid! It's nice to see one open nearby, I hope it continues to do well!


Some of the kids enjoyed make-it-yourself pizzas...


...and ice cream of course!

Heading back for a night of pretty good sleep!


The next morning, they played at the park after a tasty breakfast of fruit and waffles. Thank you so much Becca, for including Anna in your special day!
