The USS Midway

Anna and Sam sure get to go on some amazing field trips through their school. This past week, Anna spent a night on the USS Midway with her classmates. The Midway is a museum ship, formerly an aircraft carrier for the Navy. Anna ate meals and slept in the bunks on the ship. She had a lot of fun!

Japanese Food Collage

There are so many fun photo apps for the iPhone. It's easy to make a collage on Pic Jointer, I just had to revisit some foods from the Japan trip.

Mother's Day 2012

Steve and the kids surprised me with flowers and gifts for Mother's Day (even though I told them they didn't need to get me anything after my huge Japan trip). I like these kinds of mixed bouquets over roses, especially with the tulips. Later in the day we went to Doheny State Beach in Dana Point. Steve and the kids practiced skipping rocks in the bay and then enjoyed the ocean waves.

Sam loves to read!

I took Sammy to the Huntington Beach Library to finish up his Reading Passport. Here he is reading "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". I was so proud that he completed all the books!

Bolsa Chica Wetlands

We went to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands, there was a dolphin which mistakenly swam here through an inlet, but it did find its way back to the ocean the day we visited. We took a nice long stroll, then we headed to Baskin Robbins for a snack.
