Rob's Birthday BBQ

We went over to Santa Monica on a perfect spring day for Rob's birthday. It was his day but everyone else was treated by him to a fabulous taco spread. Carne asada, chicken, and slow-cooked brisket with your choice of fabulous toppings. Julia was cute and cuddly as ever, she was very patient while being held by everyone, and had a couple naps during the time we were there... oh, the life of an adorable baby. Oops, I digress... happy birthday Rob! Thanks for a wonderful day everyone!

El Dorado Park

While Steve and the kids were at school, Ted, Marilyn and I went on a two-mile walk at El Dorado Park in Long Beach. We spotted a heron, some lizards, several turtles and other wildlife. The weather was ideal and we had a very nice time. Now, looking at these photos, I think we need to revisit this park with Sam and Anna!

Aquarium with Sam

Blog catch-up... Steve and I took Sam to the Long Beach Aquarium during spring break while Anna was in school. It wasn't too crowded and we were able to see all our favorite exhibits. If Sam were awake right now he could tell me the names of the creatures in these photos. :)

We may not be traveling out of the country anytime in the near future, but it's nice to look ahead and get prepared for it!

Happy Mother's Day

The day started off with pretty cards and drawings, a lovely necklace, matching t-shirts for me and Anna, and breakfast made by Steve. We went to church, had Sonic for lunch and then I had a catnap. We then went to the Irvine Spectrum. We saw the movie Oceans, and had Pinkberry for a snack. Mama brought over ribs for dinner. What an enjoyable day.

We had a wonderful time with Kim and Mark's family, and Grandpa and Grandma. We can't wait to see them again in the summer!
