Anna found out a few days ago that she will be the flower girl of our friend Aileen's wedding (mom is the matron of honor, that sounds so... matronly). This is Anna's dress and shoes for the wedding, we picked them up today from Westminster Mall. Anna asks if the wedding is tomorrow, but she will have to wait until the end of August.

Last week's theme at Anna's school was "dinosaurs", the kids made dinosaur projects and dug for fossils. Don't you love Anna's rainbow Brontosaurus hat?

Yesterday was Tasha's 4th birthday party. Anna and Tasha have been friends ever since they were infants, our families met through church. Tasha's mom provided the costumes to wear during the party, and most of the time the girls flew around as tinkerbells and chased one other. Oh, they also strung beads and buttons for necklaces, another great activity for a little girl's party.

In person you'd see that about a third of my hairs are grey and that my front right tooth is chipped, and you really don't see any of that here, which is why I love it. Sammy is wondering what is on his head but can't help but pose for the camera.

Anna's outfit of choice these days is a pink poodle shirt and skirt, but she insists on wearing "long pants" to school. On her school days she chooses her outfit the night before and wears it to bed. Makes it easy on us.

Anna "graduated" from pre-pre-kindergarten last week. They had a cute ceremony which Steve attended, complete with songs and dances and a diploma presentation.

We bought this deluxe exer-saucer with two Toys-R-Us gift cards and then some. The instructions clearly state, "Do not spin baby around in exersaucer," but I don't discourage any kind of gentle interaction between the two kiddies.

The Tiki Room is back at Disneyland! It's a little musical show with singing birds and flowers hanging from the ceiling, as well as tiki poles mouthing the words to the famous song, "In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room..." All mechanical yet extremely charming. The Tiki Room dates way back but had been closed for years until recently. This photo was taking in the waiting area outside the show. Sammy's eyes and ears were alert the whole time.

We went to Disneyland yesterday, it was my first time there since they started celebrating their 50th anniversary, there's a new parade and beautiful decorations to commemorate the event. For example, the castle has 5 giant sparkling crowns on its towers. Certain rides have a golden car, like dumbo or the teacups. Very fun and festive. And the parade is wonderful, see Lion King in the background as Sam sleeps?

We went to the Bowers Kidseum in Santa Ana yesterday, it was perfect for Anna and the family, there were sandboxes with "treasures", instruments from around the world, and a dress-up stage area.
