Seattle, Part 6/10: Pacific Science Center
After lunch we headed over to the Pacific Science Center, comprised of indoor and outdoor science exhibits and fun.
Beautiful squid sculpture...
And a whale's tail.
This swirling exhibit is part of the Science Playground at the museum.
Sam was very good at matching the animals to their skeletal features.
These kids cannot help but continue their scientific research during vacation.
What else does the Pacific Science Center offer? Hands-on sea life creatures!
My favorite part of the Science Center had to be the Tropical Butterfly House.
"Temperatures are in the low 80s, humidity is 60 to 70 percent, and full-spectrum lighting keeps the plants and butterflies healthy. Watch beautiful, exotic butterflies fly, sun themselves, and feed among tropical flowers."
The Blue Morpho butterflies were attracted to Anna's visor.
It was nice getting close-up views of these gorgeous creatures.
Can anyone name the last two butterflies?
This Owl Butterfly stayed on Steve's shirt for a good 20 minutes at least. They both got a lot of attention. Before we left the Butterfly House the workers made sure our clothing was free of any butterflies. Bye-bye!
More puzzle fun at Insect Village!
Sam could not pass up this larger-than-life guitar.
The Pacific Science Center is a great place to spend an afternoon, loads of interactive fun.
