My Birthday, Part 1

It was hard to imagine doing anything grand for my birthday after our spectacular trip to Japan. Steve suggested a spontaneous day trip to Santa Barbara. We got a late morning start and arrived in Santa Barbara within two hours. We decided to dine at Brophy Bros, overlooking the ocean. We had a fantastic lunch, I had an oyster shooter to start, and the shrimp scampi. Sam had a tasty burger, I think this was the summer where he became a huge meat eater. We then walked along the docks and found a walkway to a secluded beach area that still had all the views. It made me appreciate beautiful Southern California very much.
