Road Trip! Day 2 Part 2 - California State Railroad Museum

When Steve suggested we visit the train museum in Sacramento, I didn't know what to expect. It ended up becoming one of my favorite museums ever. The California State Railroad Museum is huge, it houses several locomotives and railroad cars, some of which you can walk through. I especially enjoyed going through the sleeper car and seeing the cramped spaces where people slept while they traveled, as well as through the dining car with varieties of fine china on display. There's also a theater which shows a movie depicting railroad history in the West. On the top floor, you can get a view of the trains and displays and there is a play area for younger kids as well. Steve and I enjoyed the Railroad Museum just as much as the kids did!
