Huntington Library and Gardens

Today we went to the Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino, I reserved tickets for this "free day" about a month prior. The weather was very warm and Anna dressed appropriately (H&M dress $4.90!).

It took about an hour to drive there and Sam still wanted to take a little rest before feeling comfortable enough to explore. Fortunately he had the magna doodle to make some quick landscape sketches.

We then headed straight to the Children's Garden, the kids spent quite a bit of time at the pebble chimes, you can drop some stones through the metal posts inside and hear very pretty sounds.

We knew we couldn't cover all 120 acres of gardens but we had to see the new Liu Fang Yuan Chinese Garden.

We ended our tour with the Japanese Garden, my favorite place at Huntington so far. We only covered a fraction of the 120 acres the gardens have to offer, when the kids are older it will be fun to see it all.
