California Road Trip Part 4: The Coast and Monterey

After Hearst Castle we drove up the coast to Monterey toward our final destination, San Francisco. We stopped to look at Elephant Seals in San Simeon, Steve said he remembered visiting this area when he was younger, they didn't have the beach fenced off as they do now.








Driving on the Pacific Coast Highway was beautiful, passing through Carmel and Big Sur but by then I was getting a bit carsick and we stopped in Monterey. Sam really wanted to get to our final destination and wasn't too crazy about the rest stop... until he spotted some jellyfish near the docks and cute seals off of Cannery Row. I had a cup of clam chowder, Steve bought a coffee and the kids had some Sunny Delight before we headed off to San Francisco.
