End of Summer Legoland Trip, Part 4

Paulina was very easy-going throughout our visit to Legoland. One day she'll have fun going on the rides with her sister, and her cousins too! I hope you enjoyed the photos of this fun time!

End of Summer Legoland Trip, Part 3

I really like the Legoland Water Park, it's clean, safe, and lots of fun for all ages. The lazy river is a big draw. The kids had the most laughs on the yellow slide which splashed into a shallow pool. Uncle Rob was a good sport taking Julia, Anna and Sam on the slide at least a dozen times!

End of Summer Legoland Trip, Part 2

We stayed at the Carlsbad Sheraton adjacent to Legoland, the hotel has a private entrance to the park within walking distance. We enjoyed the comfortable room and the spacious pool. Sam especially enjoyed reading on the private balcony.

End of Summer Legoland Trip, Part 1

I'm writing this in October, this Legoland trip was our last summer hurrah before all the busy-craziness of the school year started. Mari and Rob decided on an ambitious overnight trip to Carlsbad with their girls, and we met up with them and enjoyed a great adventure! Julia definitely liked the more adventurous rides like the Captain Cranky's (swinging boat) Challenge!

Newport Beach at Low Tide

Anna and Sam and I met up with Gabbi, Olivia, Seth and Rachel at Newport Beach. The weather was perfect, and the water was too. It was at super low tide, and the kids could go out for quite a ways and the water would just hit above their knees. The kids were also able to make some cool sand creations on the smooth shoreline. The sand near the pier has a glistening to it, Sam and Anna started panning for it like gold.

LACMA and the Levitated Mass

We finally made a visit to LACMA this summer, I had been wanting to see the Levitated Mass, a 340-ton granite rock brought in from Riverside. There is a long walkway under the "megalith", and we had a lot of fun posing from various perspectives. Afterwards we enjoyed painting in the Children's Gallery. Sam especially loved looking at the netsuke, I took photos of his favorites, including the monkey-like creature and the elephant.
