Dorcas

We recently had a wonderful visit with our friend Dorcas. Dorcas lives in Los Angeles in a nice assisted living home. She has her room beautifully decorated with special photos and artwork, immaculate as always. When you meet Dorcas, you would not believe she is in her 90's, she is very animated in her stories and has a zest for life. She gave us a tour of her home and introduced us to lots of friendly people. The time with Dorcas was good for the whole family!

California Road Trip Part 9: Goodbye

Here is the final post from our August trip up north, I'm sorry it took so long! With school starting up things have gotten so busy. Lily joined us at the pool at the Walnut Creek Embassy Suites, our final day there. We look forward to our next visit up north!

Stay tuned for more blog entries in the near future, including the kids' first day of school, and a visit with Dorcas.

California Road Trip Part 8: Happy 50th Anniversary Marilyn and Ted!

We celebrated Marilyn and Ted's 50th Anniversary with a special Q&A video featuring the couple's favorite things and highlights from their marriage, accompanying goody bags, and a dinner at Il Fornaio. Back home we enjoyed a tasty dessert of three kinds of cake. Congratulations on this wonderful milestone!

California Road Trip Part 7: Chinatown

Marilyn and Carter led us on a tour of Chinatown. Only an insider could take us to these special places which included the site of the first public school in California, special souvenir shops, and a sampling of Gai Mei Bao pastries. We also took a stroll to the Trolley Car Museum. What a fun, full day!

California Road Trip Part 6: The Exploratorium

The Exploratorium in San Francisco is a fantastic hands-on science museum, the best of its kind that I've ever been to. We spend 4+ hours interacting with the exhibits, and we could have easily spent more time there. Afterward we took photos with the Palace of Fine Arts as a beautiful backdrop.
